Forty-one years of reading walls.
Rick Fogg has spent 41 years in the waterproofing and plaster trades, and has run Fogg Construction for more than two decades. He has worked alongside architects, designers, owners’ representatives, and property owners to deliver each project’s intended outcome — with special care for detail, schedule, and budget.
Based in Petaluma and working across the North Bay & San Francisco Bay Area, Rick founded Fogg Construction in 2004 after two decades already spent in the trade — and still personally bids every project.
What four decades on the trowel teaches.
- 01
Stucco waterproofing & barrier systems
Moisture barriers, building paper, and modern flashing integrated with plaster components — the wall built as one water-management system.
- 02
Exterior envelope moisture diagnosis
Reading how water actually moves through a building — finding the entry point before a dollar is spent on repairs.
- 03
Custom texture matching
Cementitious and acrylic finishes reproduced by hand so repairs, patches, and additions disappear into the original wall.
- 04
Interior Venetian plaster
Hand-troweled, burnished plaster for walls and ceilings — color, sheen, and finish developed on sample boards before the first coat.
Licensed for the whole wall.

“They were fantastic! The owner came out himself to bid the job, threw in some stucco patchwork that was needed outside of the immediate area to be fixed. The crew was on time, worked quickly, and didn’t leave any debris behind (cleaned up the area perfectly). Not the cheapest, not the most expensive either, but the expertise and skill was evident and I couldn’t be happier. I highly recommend Fogg.”
